Hanneke stepped outside her usual pastel palette for this piece, embracing hues she often avoids. ‘I normally steer clear of red, white and blue,’ she admits, ‘but I’m really pleased with how it turned out. Voorjaarsbode
In een mooie aardewerk ovalen pot is onderin Oasis TerraBrick als basis gebruikt, Hierin is gedroogd gras (Panicum virgatum) uit de winterse tuin gestoken en geklemd. Tussen het droge gras zijn uitgebloeide takken uit de tuin (Spirea japonica, Solidago, Lunaria annua) gestoken, wat een mooi winters silhouet geeft. Het voorjaar wordt zichtbaar in de subtiele vorm en kleur van de dwergiris bolletjes. Van dichtbij gezien heeft deze frêle zachtgele Iris ‘Katharine’s Gold’ een prachtige felgele met blauwe tekening.
