Lady-Round

This mysteriously colored bridal bouquet is arranged on a Smithers Oasis lady-round. The advantage of this is that the flowers don’t dry out. A spiderweb has been created from salmon-colored aluminum wire extending from the lady-round. The flowers can be secured to this frame. Personally, I find this color combination very beautiful: all those burgundy tones with brown and salmon. The arrangement includes Gloriosa, Cymbidium, carnivorous plants, ranunculus, Talinum ‘Long John’, various orchids, chrysanthemums, jasmine vines, and dried Chasmanthium grasses.

Everlasting

This bridal bouquet has a long shelf life because the materials used are dried or freeze-dried. The rose in the center is freeze-dried and constructed using a technique called rosemelia. I used a simple, lightweight bamboo bowl as the base. I drilled a hole in it and glued the center of the rose into place. The outside of the bowl is covered with dried Chasmanthium grasses from Marginpar. I then applied a coat of varnish to it. The stem of the bubble bouquet is made of several thick aluminum wires, which were drilled into the bowl.

Layered composition

The petals of orange lilies are carefully separated and sorted by size and shape. They are then meticulously reassembled into a single harmonious whole. During this process of gluing with cold Oasis glue, a layered composition emerges in which other flower varieties also find their place. Subtle accents of Chasmanthium latifolium ‘Mantis’, Clematis ‘Amazing Kibo’, white Muscari, and Fritillaria weave their way among the lily petals, enhancing the whole into a rich and dynamic floral form.

Intertwined

An organic teardrop shape has been woven from various grasses using a basic wire frame (1.4 mm). Several snowdrops and Clematis Amazing Vienna flowers have been woven in, together with a few defoliated side branches of bamboo and Chasmanthium latifolium grasses. The whole arrangement has been placed in a glass bowl on a base containing a layer of silver sand.

Grass Circle

On a black bowl rests an orchid root ball with floral foam blocks underneath. Fragile species drink from water tubes placed between the roots, the remaining materials are inserted through the root ball in OASIS Floral Foam. Flowers and grasses used: Cymbidium, Chasmanthium, Calamagrostis, Sorghum, Rudbeckia and Amaranthus.

Sleep tight

Silver spool wire is interwoven and woven until a loose kIus shape is created. Attached to this base are many small test tubes incorporating a wide variety of flowers in a rich color palette. Flowers used: Gloriosa 'Fifty Shades', various Clematis Amazing varieties such as London, Miami, Kansas and Sofia. As well as Polianthes 'Elsa Blush', Chasmantium latifolium 'Mantis', Talinum 'Long John', Astrantia 'Roma', Phalaenopsis, Lilium, Scabiosa Bon Bon Scoop French Vanilla, Viola and several varieties of Dahlia.
