Prickly

A polystyrene ball is wrapped with red wool, leaving
space so that the approximately one hundred tonkin sticks can be inserted between them. The tonkin sticks were sprayed red – in a quick movement – and then subtly sprinkled with glitter while the paint was still wet. A number of small Christmas baubles are glued into the heart. Finally, the Nerine and Gloriosa are inserted on floral tubes between the 'Corallo' rose hips.

Christmas wreaths

Polystyrene wreaths were used as the base for the Christmas wreaths.
Holes were first drilled into these
to insert plastic tubes. After that,
molten candle wax was applied. The materials
were glued or placed on silver-colored aluminum wire
that was inserted through the candle wax into the polystyrene.
Roses,
orchids, Tillandsia, snowberries and
Alocasia leaves were placed in the tubes.

Rose circle

The base of this object is a wooden MDF ring. Threaded ends are drilled into it,
which are first wrapped with paper wire from Smithers Oasis. To create
sturdiness in the construction, an iron ring with the same diameter is placed.
The threaded ends are attached to this, also with paper wire. A water vial is attached to each threaded end.
This makes the wreath cylindrical. Avalanche roses are placed in the vials, interspersed with mini Zantedeschia - a
fine flower to work with, strong and very flexible. The stems are curved
and incorporated, creating a lot of depth and tension in this object.

Enclosed

The base of this bouquet is made of a polystyrene hemisphere from which a ring has been
cut. Prepared leaves are glued onto the polystyrene with hot glue. A layer of bullion wire
is wrapped around this. This is decorative, but it also ensures that
the leaf stays nicely within the shape everywhere. The Avalanche Peach rose colors beautifully
with the leaf and with the beautiful brown Tillandsia flowers. For a surprising effect,
these are placed asymmetrically between the roses.

Cylinder

The base for this cylindrical table piece is a Bio cake form from
Smithers Oasis. A number of elastics are placed around this.
Sticks can be clamped between the elastics and the floral foam. These
sticks are, with the correct quantity, cut off at the same length at the same time
– a quick, easy technique with which branches or sticks can be processed in a beautiful way, and possibly
well in advance. For the arrangement, beautiful white Avalanche roses are simply processed.

Between layers

A considerable number of bamboo sticks are wrapped with rope using a drilling machine and secured at both ends with binding wire. These wrapped sticks create an airy base for this bouquet, consisting of a large and a small base. These are attached one above the other. In between, all the flowers are tied in a sheaf-like manner – the flowers are between the two layers. Flowers used: orange disbudded chrysanthemums, Germini in orange and salmon shades, Avalanche Peach rose, red Helleborus and Hydrangea, Euphorbia 'Autumn Leaves' and Amaryllis 'Maestro'.
