Christmas Gala

This body deco is beautiful to wear during a Christmas gala
or event. To create a nice warm feeling during the cold winter and Christmas days, soft and furry materials have been used.

For the base of the substructure, wooden snowflakes are individually placed on wire, after which they are twisted into branches and attached to each other. These snowflakes have beautiful shades, matching the flowers and other materials. Davallia roots, various Kalanchoe leaf varieties, Cambria orchids, Clematis (including C. Amazing Kibo) and Scabiosa are glued to the substructure with cold glue from Smithers Oasis.

Christmas stars

'Whoever thinks of Christmas thinks of stars.' These two handmade stars have a base of 5 mm thick aluminum wire. The wire is bent into two star shapes and each placed on a black pin. Then, the star shapes are filled by wrapping with silver-colored bullion wire. This powerful base does not need much more than a beautiful snow star and beautiful Gloriosa.

Lavender cake

A layer of cellophane
is wrapped around a Smithers Oasis bio cake form to make it waterproof. An elastic band is placed around the form, between which the placed lavender stems are clamped. After enough lavender has been placed around the form, the whole can be secured with waterproof
tape and then nicely finished with ribbon and wire. Fresh flowers, including Helleborus, Clematis, Gloriosa, Phalaenopsis, Talinum ‘Long John’ and Echeveria succulents, are placed in the (wet) floral foam. Matching Christmas baubles and handmade stars of purple aluminum wire give the whole extra cachet.

Circled

Pine cones are attached to each other with black binding wire by making two wreaths around each other. This creates two rows of pine cones. An iron ring is incorporated in the inner row to create sturdiness, after which the whole is placed on a frame of black poken: the base for a hand-tied bouquet. The bouquet incorporates flowers in beautiful purple, brown, and salmon shades: Clematis (including C. Amazing Kibo), Helleborus, chrysanthemum, Scabiosa, Zantedeschia, lisianthus, Echeveria succulents, and Kalanchoe beharensis leaf.

Subdued

A 5 mm thick aluminum wire is placed on a wooden base. A 2 mm aluminum wire is placed on this and roughly kneaded into a Christmas tree model using the crush technique. Cut pieces of the Calocephalus plant, or silver bush, are wrapped around this with silver wire. The plants dry very well, making this tree very durable! Two beautiful Kalanchoe leaves complete the picture - here, the art of omission applies.

Xmas twist

Within the golden ring – formerly a kind of tray
with a mirror – a silver shrub (Calocephalus) cut into pieces was placed first. All materials are inserted through this. The whole is placed on a vase so that the cut flowers are all in water: Clematis (including C. Amazing Kibo), chrysanthemum, Scabiosa, Zantedeschia, Rudbeckia and Phalaenopsis. Finally, the Christmas balls and the Echeveria
succulents are glued on.
