'Materials that are pure are always my preference'

Master florist Diny Blom has had her Blomatelier in the heart of Gouda for 33 years. As the daughter of growers and florists, she grew up on the edge of the forests of the Southern Veluwe. 'Nature always appeals to the imagination and is always a source of inspiration. I still remember the large barrel with Icelandic moss in the corridor of the nursery – and my father's secret of adding some salt to it for a clear color. But also the trunks and
pine cones that came from the forest.'

‘Materials that are pure are always my preference. My
nursery-friends in Boskoop also have great Pinus species in addition to beautiful Cryptomeria. They also keep old roots for me. And the Ilex grower keeps the crooked and bent branches especially for me. I always drive away from there super happy with beautiful materials!’

‘The trend I see is a growing appreciation for nature and simplicity, with soft colors such as powder pink, gold, ivory, green and white, but also red, orange, bright pink.’

Enjoying the scent of roses

Take a seat, stop time, and be amazed; life is extraordinary! In these fast-paced times we live in, it is important to slow down and enjoy life. Roses in different shades are naturally arranged on different sizes of water dishes. By placing them at different heights around the pouf, you can literally sit among the flowers and fully enjoy the rose scent.

Let the sun shine

We can't miss a summer sun. A ball made of pieces of floral foam is wrapped with chicken wire. A snap hook is attached to the chicken wire to hang the sun. The ball is shortly inserted with sunflowers, Tanacetum, Leucanthemum, Craspedia and dried, colored palm leaves.

Happiness comes from within

A frame has been made from a few pieces of bark through which the flowers, fuchsia-colored Gerbera, have been inserted. The easy-to-make frame can be rearranged time and again. Thanks to the choice of flowers, you can give the frame bouquet a completely different look time and again with the same base.

Celebrate life!

A summer garden party for a golden wedding anniversary. Gypsophila is very versatile and a welcome flower in bridal bouquets and arrangements. As a base, gypsophila and the gold-sprayed hydrangea are inserted very compactly into the floral foam. The long stems of the white carnations and gold-sprayed Anthurium are playfully inserted, giving the whole a modern look.
