Botanical elegance

This round arrangement is stitched on an Oasis Nature BioBase wreath (Ø 41cm) whose edge is coarsely finished with plate moss for the botanical effect. Inspiration is a colorful picking garden - with garden roses in particular. The arrangement is made straight up (like shapes in a garden) from a beautiful mix of Gerbera 'Pasta Rosata', Dahlia 'Pink Magic', Rosa 'New Design', Clematis 'Star River' and Asclepias 'Soulmate'. The lilac Clematis provides an exciting contrast. As a detail, small copper leaves are strung and hung along the stems.

Pure Natural

This hand-tied 'wild' bouquet consists of few materials: fresh Ammi visnaga 'Casablanca', artichoke (Cynara) 'Green Globe' and Nigella 'White Lady'. The whole is finished with stripped branches of Asparagus - leaving only the skeleton of the branch. For green contrast, large wild, spent dill flower heads with seed pods from the roadside were used. A very beautiful natural ensemble, in a transparent glass vase.

Garden Bouquet

For the base of this hand-tied garden bouquet, we started with a large branched head of wild dill from the roadside. Other flowers such as Rosa 'Darlington', Gerbera 'Pasta Rosata', Anemone 'September Charm', Gloriosa 'Rothschildiana', Lilium 'Red Velvet' and Clematis 'Star River' were incorporated into a hand-tied corn sheaf bouquet, the rose-red roses from our own garden completed the look. The bouquet is placed in a blue chandelier earthenware pot. Graceful tendrils of passion flower are wrapped around the entire bouquet, stripped Asparagus branches create an airy effect.

Bali vibes

For the base of this plant arrangement, a round circle was cut from a sheet of MDF. Metal pegs were sprayed gold and attached to the wooden board. Blue velvet was then stretched over this, which was attached at the bottom with a tacker. The bases of sapucaia nuts were drilled in and attached to the pegs. A mix of different species of Philodendron plants were playfully incorporated into the nuts. The whole thing was finished off with homemade brown Bio Oasis pebbles placed between the plant roots with satay sticks. Tendrils of passion flower finish it off.

Wavy

Holes were drilled at random on two wooden boards into which copper welding wires of different lengths were inserted to create a wave. Small glass tubes are attached to the ends with tie-wraps. Stripped Asparagus branches form the airy base. Inserted into the tubes are Gloriosa 'Exotic Orange,' Asclepias 'Soulmate,' Anemone 'September Charm' and Briza media.

'An ode to nature! In all its design, color and growth.' Freelance floral stylist Thijs Harmens is distinctly enthusiastic about the Lush Natural Elegance theme. 'During our vacation to Bali, last June, I got enormous inspiration from the design of hotels but also the way of life and the unspoiled nature with all its beautiful plants, flowers and fruits.'

'As a freelancer I work with all kinds of materials. Fashion, nature, flowers but also the shape of a vase can be inspiring. I get motivation from my environment and how people are constantly innovating, developing and thinking about the future. That makes me think how to contribute in a positive way without compromising what I stand for. Previously I was very concerned with what others would think of it, now I increasingly follow my own feelings.'

'Besides ordering cultivated flowers, I also looked at what grows here in Zwolle. Nature is full of beautiful shapes and materials. I like to work with dahlias, roses and, if possible, fragile flowers with small details.'
