Spring is arriving. And it can be felt as early as February, although of course it can still be quite a winter well into March and even April. On Jan. 15, Franka Roenhorst won the Dutch Floral Art Championship. Together with her partner Hans Zijlstra, she owns flower store Floral Stylist Hans Zijlstra in Groningen. Franka is also the Dutch candidate of the World Cup Floral Art in 2025. Enough reason for an interview with the new Dutch Champion Floral Art!
Visitors to spring Trendz fair are welcomed by bright fresh colors, a positive aura that makes instant happy. Furthermore, there is room for a return to nature: reeds, pale ceramics, light fabrics, transparent glass bring tranquility. Materials are reused or are high quality like marble and terracotta. On the one hand you see forms from the antique world and on the other hand new technologies such as AI and 3D designs are gaining importance. These are customer-oriented and therefore also have a sustainable side.
On January 14 and 15, the quadrennial finals of the NK Floral Art took place at the Trendz trade show in Gorinchem. The NK final is aligned with the international competition calendar. Through three regional preliminary rounds, which took place in 2022, nine candidates had qualified for the final battle for the prestigious Dutch title.
