Warm orange
A stook sheaf tied bouquet, supported by a ring, in beautiful warm orange tones with flowers in autumn colors and berries. The frame consists of a ring that is wrapped with rope and gold-colored wire, to which four sticks are attached. Materials used: Rosa ‘Kahla’, Dahlia, artichoke, Viburnum, Crocosmia, Campsis, Setaria and Echinacea.
Viva violet
An Oasis Ideal sphere is placed on a bamboo stick for reinforcement and placed in a black vase. All materials are inserted on this; Hydrangea, Asteraceae, Nicandra physalodes, Viburnum, Vitis, Nigella, Setaria italica, bramble and Wisteria (2nd bloom in autumn).
Mysterious Autumn
The bamboo stick is placed on an iron pin, and the two wreaths, Oasis Naylorbase ring (Ø 25cm), are attached to each other with waterproof tape, creating depth. The sides are covered with Populus alba leaves. A thin layer of Tillandsia is placed on both wreaths, after which the whole is filled with poppy seed heads. The crocheted spider web is made of metallic sewing thread and attached to the back with waterproof tape. A very small, subtle tendril has been added as a finishing touch.
Long lasting
Inspired by the early autumn morning. The base is an Oasis Eychenne All Black cushion (Ø 50cm) whose edge is covered with plastic tape, after which oats (Avena sativa) are clamped and tied behind rope. Then, the thin birch branches are placed, and all materials, including Papaver somniferum, Scabiosa stellata, rapeseed, globe thistle, wheat, and ground elder, are inserted into the oasis. The Miscanthus protrudes above the birch branches. As a finish, ornamental fruits, sunflower hearts, and loose leaves are applied. All materials dry nicely.
Gold for Estonian smoke saunas and black bread
As many as sixteen floral designers from around the globe traveled to Singapore at the invitation of the organization to compete from Aug. 3-5 for the Floral Windows to the World Championship (FWWC) competition, part of the Singapore Garden Festival. FWWC, after a six-year hiatus, returned this year in a revamped live format.
Wind spinner
Straw is wrapped around a sturdy iron wire with binding wire, and then it is twisted around a sturdy tube to create a spiral shape. Nicandra and Malva are individually wrapped together with bullion wire, sweet chestnut husks are wrapped with rope and then knotted to rope, and Raphanus is threaded onto binding wire. All these strands are fastened to the spiral shape with raffia. The Eryngium is glued onto the spiral, with Tillandsia applied underneath here and there.
