SIDAI: Where breeding and photography come together

The meeting between artist Ellen Korth and Peter van de Pol, director of Schoneveld Breeding, resulted in a special exhibition in which two disciplines come together: flower seed breeding and photography. From mutual appreciation for craftsmanship and creativity, the Sidai exhibition arose – Swahili for 'beauty'.
The exhibition shows refined plant portraits, printed on Japanese Kozo-Washi paper. Each portrait is a carefully designed work of art in which the aesthetics of nature are central.

Green Sector Trends 2026

Flower Council Holland, in collaboration with Tuinbranche Nederland, iBulb, INretail, and Bureau Nijman + Van Haaster, has developed the Green Sector Trends 2026. These trends respond to the current zeitgeist, in which uncertainty and technological developments, such as artificial intelligence, play an increasingly important role. New dynamics in the floral industry

The flower market is in full swing. While the number of independent flower shops is decreasing, the total turnover in the sector is actually growing. According to Marco Maasse, director of the Royal Association of Florist Retailers (VBW), this is because consumers continue to buy flowers, albeit through new channels. "Fewer stand-alone shops and companies are jointly realizing more turnover," he says in an article in RetailTrends.
