Flower shows hold everyone's interest. They provide inspiration and are a great opportunity to meet fellow professionals. But because you can't go to everything, and the duration is often short, we let you enjoy the second edition of Féerie Florale Alden Biesen, this time with Lights & Shadows as the overarching theme.
A little further from home, the event FloraFusion Kyrgyzstan took place in the capital Bishkek. Here a grand stage show was presented in a spectacular evening floral performance with special floral arrangements built around the four seasons and inspired by Kyrgyz nature.
Stein Are Hansen gives us an insight into his floral practice. He urges fellow florists to take charge: 'Read your customers and choose your own signature,' he posits. 'Think carefully before offering bouquet subscriptions of 40 euros a week; they don't serve pasta alla carbonara at a three-star restaurant either. So why approach floral work any differently?'
Christmas is elaborated in this edition in the annual comprehensive special full of inspiration. Flowers and accessories in warm colors such as wine red, bronze, brown and gold fit within the 'Feast of Light' theme. And, to really surprise, even black.
Our winter special Midwinter Magic is an ode to the quiet power of winter. Especially in the first month of this season, consumers crave coziness and color. After the hustle and bustle of Christmas and New Year's Eve, when the days start to grow again, there is a need to slow down and quiet down. Gray colors and graphic silhouettes play a leading role in floral arrangements. But winter is also soft and tactile - with materials that invite touch and comfort. With, of course, the promise of the arrival of spring.
On behalf of the DPK Floral Magazine Magazine team, I wish everyone very happy holidays and an inspiring 2026. On to the three-star flower shop!
