Greenhouse Sustainability is organizing the first Horticultural Footprint Event at Op Hodenpijl in Schipluiden on March 13, 2025. This event focuses on the entire horticultural supply chain, including the ornamental horticulture sector, and addresses the topic of footprinting and environmental impact.
During the meeting, several companies, including Colours of Nature, Porta Nova, Oxin Growers and Houwenplant, will share their experiences with footprint calculations. Rick van der Linden of Greenhouse Sustainability will provide information on available calculation tools for different links in the chain. The Association of Wholesalers in Floricultural Products (VGB) will explain the importance of a FloriPEFCR Footprint for the floriculture sector.
The event will discuss the current state of footprinting in horticulture, expected developments for the next five years and the implications for chain partners. The organization aims to connect all links in the chain and plans to make this event an annual event.
The Horticulture Footprint Event will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., followed by a networking reception. Interested parties can find more information and register through the Greenhouse Sustainability website (www.greenhousesustainability.com).
