The creative design team translates the theme into floats and flower-adorned vehicles that emphasize rhythm, melody, and movement. The designs incorporate extras, musicians, and theatrical elements. According to the organizers, designers from across the Netherlands use more than 300,000 flowers and plants in the various designs.
For years, the parade has served as a major showcase for the Dutch floriculture sector. During the event, growers, floral designers, and other professionals demonstrate the role that creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship play in the art of floral design. The organizers emphasize that the parade attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and is internationally recognized as a cultural heritage event.
The parade will be assembled at Royal FloraHolland in Rijnsburg. On Friday, August 7, a free Flower Parade Show will be held there. The following day, the parade will wind its way through the region, and on Sunday, August 9, the floats will be on display on Queen Wilhelmina Boulevard in Noordwijk.
