Thriving heritage in Antwerp

The stately Paleis op de Meir in Antwerp is the setting for the boutique edition of Floraliën. The regal city residence, a heritage gem from the 18th century, will enter into dialogue with creations by top florists from home and abroad. From Oct. 1 to 6, contemporary floral creations will bring to life the botanical motifs in the historic interior of the Palace on the Meir.

The central theme of this prestigious flower festival is inspired by the colorful works of James Ensor. In 2024, it will be 75 years since James Ensor passed away, but the avant-garde artist lives on in Antwerp. The theme brings a floral ode to the painter who captures the imagination. Visitors will be able to enjoy special flowers, plants, and arrangements with a nod to James Ensor. In addition to the interior decoration, the tenants of the Palace, The Chocolate Line by chocolatier Dominique Persoone, Café Louise, and Interior Design store Flamant will also receive a floral touch.

The objective of this collaboration is the realization of a beautifully decorated meeting place for different generations and the creation of a good group dynamic in a floral setting.

Participating florists are: Horticultural School Wetteren, Alona Malafayeva, De Goede Dirk, Ilse Rambags, Sören van Laer, Nicolae Agop, Fleur de Cœur, Mark Colle, Raf Verwimp, Bloemen Degroote, Tim Beyens, CVO Antwerp, Mio gallery and Gentse Azalea.
