Flower Council Holland Introduces Supervisory Board and Renewed Governance Model

From February 2025, Flower Council Holland will operate with a new governance structure. With the introduction of a Supervisory Board alongside the Executive Board and the College of Experts, a clear separation has been made between supervision, strategy, and execution. This innovation should ensure sharper responsibilities and a better balance between the interests of the sector and the implementation of the marketing strategy.

The newly established Supervisory Board consists of six members:

  • Marco van der Sar (independent, chairman)
  • Alice van Veen (Royal Lemkes)
  • Peter ten Have (nursery J&P ten Have)
  • Ton van Mil (Royal Brinkman)
  • Mariska Werring (independent)
  • Jack Goossens (Gova BV)

This combination of independent members and representatives from the sector brings together relevant knowledge and experience to strengthen the supervision of the organization.

Daily management remains in the hands of managing director Yvonne Watzdorf. She is supported by a management team and a newly established College of Experts, which will act as an advisory body. "This step enables us to realize our ambitions for the sector even better," says Watzdorf.

Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Marco van der Sar, adds: “With the new management model, we can work more purposefully and efficiently. It is now clear who is responsible for what.”

With this restructuring, Flower Council Holland wants to further professionalize its marketing activities and thus contribute to a stronger reputation of the floriculture sector in Europe.
