Spring has begun

On February 9 & 10, spring started at Star & Van der Gugten in Wetteren (BE) with an inspiring two-day event full of floral art, craftsmanship, and a wide range of (spring) flowers. Three generations of florists: Daniël Ost, Erik Lockley, and upcoming Dutch talent Bente van Meurs let the flowers speak and showed innovative creations with materials that you should not miss this season. The sustainable products of Smithers-Oasis were also given a stage during the demonstration.
Star & Van der Gugten, a wholesaler specializing in cut flowers with cash & carries in the Netherlands and a head office at Royal FloraHolland Rijnsburg, took over the Belgian wholesaler De Rijcke in 2017. They offer special ornamental shrubs through their own growers' organization My-Blush. They also sell a range of plants and accessories. Customers can order via the webshop or choose on-site in the cash & carry. At the end of last year, Star & Van der Gugten moved to a brand new location in Wetteren. This festive event was celebrated on February 9-10.

Wout van der Gugten, director of the Belgian company, deliberately did not call it an open house, but an event that heralds spring. 'It is intended as an informal event where customers can gather inspiration, discover the spring range and network over a snack and a drink. Especially for this occasion, three florists provided a special demonstration during the two days.'

You can discover the designs of Bente van Meurs in the spring special. The creative work of Erik Lockley can be admired in the special Nature, Naturally!.
