
The field of participants included 11 countries. The assignments varied each day and included a corn husk-bound LEGO bouquet, a plant arrangement inspired by architecture, a wedding bouquet for a Viking theme, a piece of work on Danish biodiversity, a wreath for a mermaid and a table arrangement. The competitions attracted many spectators; according to her trainers, Jikke remained calm and focused despite the pressure.
For Jansen, EuroSkills was more than a competition. The intensive days, cooperation within Team Netherlands and the level of the competition made participation a valuable experience, according to her supervisors. Aeres MBO Velp says it is proud of its development and results.
EuroSkills Herning brought together more than 600 young professionals from 33 countries in 38 trades. The competition is part of Skills The Finals and aims to raise awareness of craftsmanship and vocational education.
