The IPM Essen trade fair presented the “Spring Fever” stage shows on January 28 and 29. These shows were performed by the winners of the German Floristry Championship: Josef Dirr, Lena Hartmann, and Jennifer Mühlbauer.
The demonstrations, focused on spring floristry, took place on the rotating stage in Hall 5, a meeting place created by the German Florists Association (FDF) and sponsors. The shows offered new ideas for the spring season in flower shops.
The florists showcased various arrangements, including room dividers, frame bouquets, and flower nests made of branches. They worked with a wide range of flowers, such as roses, Anthurium, orchids, snowball, carnations, Gloriosa, and tulips.
A striking example was a table piece by Jennifer Mühlbauer, consisting of a metal plate with copper vases equipped with magnets for easy repositioning. The piece contained ranunculus in shades of orange, apricot, cream, and yellow.
The arrangements offer florists and arrangers insight into current trends and techniques and inspiration for spring arrangements.
