The IPM Essen fair, presented the "Spring Fever" stage shows on Jan. 28 and 29. These shows were performed by the winners of the German floral design championships: Josef Dirr, Lena Hartmann and Jennifer Mühlbauer.
The demonstrations, focused on spring floristry, took place on the rotating stage in Hall 5, a meeting place created by the German Florists' Association (FDF) and sponsors. The shows offered new ideas for the spring season in flower stores.
The florists showed various arrangements, including room dividers, frame bouquets and flower nests made from branches. They worked with a wide range of flowers, including roses, Anthurium, orchids, snowball, carnations, Gloriosa and tulips.
A striking example was a table piece by Jennifer Mühlbauer, consisting of a metal plate with copper vases fitted with magnets for easy movement. The piece featured ranunculus in shades of orange, apricot, cream and yellow.
The arrangements offer florists and arrangers insight into current trends and techniques and inspiration for spring arrangements.
